James M. Hawes

Co-Founder and Managing Director of Inter-Asia Management since 1972, he has more than twenty five years of direct investment experience in Asia. As Managing partner of the Singapore office, his responsibilities include deal cultivation and project evaluation and negotiation. He has started and operated companies in Asia and been a director of more than twenty companies in Asia, including Hong Kong Sheraton Hotel & Shopping Mall, Ikea, Five Pillars Indonesia Office Park and McDonald's of Singapore. Prior to joining Inter-Asia, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy underwater Demolition Team and on SEAL Team 2. He received an M.B.A. from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration.
